My hike in the mountain....July 26th 2005 : Part-1

 I will keep appending this story through the day and the next.

The place Raigad, about 150 km southwest  of Pune.

This was a fort ruled by various kings, most notably Chhatrapati ( King of Kings) Shivaji around the late 1600's.  It was his capital.

Some views....This one is from a 'ropeway '( like a ski lift) going down the side of the mountain on which the fort was.

So it started raining like crazy, and we could not get out of this village because of a few landlsides on the only road leading out though the mountains.This was on the 25th.

On the 26th of July, the day it rained 95 cms in Bombay, I had gone about half way up with my dad on a trail.  Its not a steep climb just that it was raining and windy and the trail is along the side of a mountain..

We came back down for lunch. After lunch I could find noone to go back up the mountain with me.  OK, I did find someone, one of the village's stray dogs started following me. 

It was the little brown dog( a litle bitch) in the back, this other dog was just passing by.

It was raining very hard. Noone else on the trail except this person , at the base of the mountain.  He disappered into the mist.
